Privacy Policy for SleepGuard

SleepGuard is designed to respect your privacy completely.

No data collection

SleepGuard does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app has no internet permission and is technically incapable of sending or receiving any data over a network.

• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising.
• No user accounts, no cloud storage.
• No data leaves your device.

Settings stored on your device

The app saves only your own preferences (mode, interval, timeout, button position and language) locally on your device using Android’s standard storage. This data never leaves the device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Permissions

SleepGuard requests only the permissions it needs to function, and uses them solely for the stated purpose:

• Display over other apps – to show the check button on top of other apps.
• Device administrator (screen lock only) – to lock the screen, exactly like pressing the power button. SleepGuard requests no other device-admin power.
• Foreground service / exact alarm – to make the check button appear on time.
• Ignore battery optimization (optional) – so the timer keeps working reliably while another app is in the foreground.
• Notifications (Android 13+) – only to show the ongoing “SleepGuard is active” notification while the service runs. No other notifications are sent.

To pause video or audio playback when you fall asleep, SleepGuard sends a standard “pause” media-button event (the same as a headset pause button). This requires no special permission and does not access any personal data.

None of these permissions are used to access, collect, or transmit personal information.

Donations

If you choose to support development, the in-app “Support development” button opens an external PayPal link in your browser. Any payment is handled entirely by PayPal under PayPal’s own privacy policy. SleepGuard itself receives no payment information.
